While playing through Palworld, I encountered a problem that prevented all my Pals from working and made them eat vast quantities of food. I tried fast traveling, sleeping, and many other things.
However, after some work, I figured out how to fix the bug with my Pals being stuck in combat mode and refusing to work assigned tasks in Palworld.
Why the bug occurred
During a raid on my base, I took the coward’s way out and simply quit the game. I think it was late at night, or I just couldn’t be bothered with the fight. Either way, this resulted in the Palworld combat mode and feeding bug occurring.
For some reason, quitting the game during a raid can get your Pals stuck in the raid mode. This results in several game-breaking bugs that will have them wandering around your base, refusing to work, and looking generally quite angry.
How to fix the combat mode bug in Palworld
To fix the bug, you’re going to have to have a little patience. Sadly, the only way I found to fix this bug was to wait for another raid to occur. As soon as a new raid began on my Palworld base, I was able to snap the Pals out of their combat state.
I found that once I had defeated the Palworld raid, my Pals returned to their duties. They got back to work and functioned normally. I am not aware of any other way to stop the bug in Palworld. It can take quite some time for a new raid to occur.
How to avoid the bug
Make sure to be careful when quitting out of Palworld. If there is a raid occurring or some kind of event that causes your Pals to be in a combat state, finish the event. It is much easier to just deal with the consequences and avoid a bug that makes your Pals useless. It cost me a lot of food and a lot of production before I fixed this Palworld bug.
