Payday 3: How to fix the Nebula log-in error

If you are stuck on a neverending Payday 3 loading screen and then are met with the Nebula data error message, there are a few fixes you can try. First, you need to identify if the problem is on your end. When that has been ruled out, you need to wait for Starbreeze to fix it because there’s nothing you can do.

I’ve experienced the Payday 3 Nebula error before and it was triggered by a new update and faulty servers. Whenever a global update is rolled out, it takes time for the servers to stabilize, hence the Nebula error. But, the problem could be because of something on your end as well.

Restart your device

The first thing you can try is closing and relaunching Payday 3, restarting your device, or power cycling your device. I recommend you do all three things in that order.

To power cycle your device, you need to shut it down completely and pull the power cable from the outlet. Wait 30 seconds, plug it back in, and boot up your device. This will help clear any bugs or errors that may have kept you from getting into Payday 3.

Check your internet

If you’re still experiencing a problem after restarting everything, then you need to check your internet. Make sure your router is working and your device is connecting to the WiFi without any problems.

If you’re able to, I always suggest connecting an ethernet cable from your router to your device. If there aren’t any issues with your WiFi and/or router, you should get a stable connection that will allow you to bypass the Nebula data error.

Also, you can save a lot of time by creating a Nebula account outside of Payday 3. That way, when you get to the log-in screen, you can enter your information and hopefully get in.

Wait for Starbreeze to fix the Payday 3 errors

The unfortunate truth is, the Payday 3 servers are broken and Starbreeze needs to fix them. I know, it’s not what you wanted to hear, but that’s the only honest answer. There is no fix to the Nebula data error right now because it’s an issue on Starbreeze’s end that they need to hotfix or patch before anyone can play their game.

If you are eager to play Payday 3 as soon as possible, I recommend following Payday 3 on Twitter (or X) to stay up-to-date on their progress. They’ve been active in telling what problems exist and what they are attempting to fix.

If you’ve somehow made it into Payday 3, you might need to check out how to fix the Payday 3 matchmaking issues because that’s also a problem. Hopefully, this guide gave you the answers you need and you won’t have to wait long for the Nebula errors to resolve.
