Sometimes Diablo 4 will throw something our way that has us questioning if it’s a feature or a bug. When a boss becomes invisible in the middle of a Diablo 4 battle, you have to ask if it was intentional or not, and if it can be fixed, or just dealt with. Here are a few things you can try.
How to stop Diablo 4 bosses from being invisible
So, currently, the most tried and tested method to fix an invisible boss in Diablo 2 is by simply restarting the whole game and client. This is the oldest trick in the book, and somehow it is still the best method. This can be particularly frustrating if you’re knee-deep in a dungeon, but if the invisibility is really making you struggle, it may be the only solution.
However, before you resort to the hard reset, you could try these other options, too.
Poison the boss
If you’re able to throw down some poison traps, you may be able to trigger the boss to appear again. There is something about changing their color to a poisoned state that triggers the boss to stop being invisible in Diablo 2. If you’re not equipped with poison, though, you’re out of luck.
Check your graphics drivers
If you’re playing on PC, your drivers may be out of date, which will cause several issues, including invisible bosses in Diablo 4. You may need to update them, which can be done by:
- Nvidia—Open Nvidia Experience from the toolbar at the bottom right of your screen. Here, you can check which updates will be needed. Download them and select Express Installation.
- AMD – Head to the AMD Auto-Detect tool page and download the program. Once this has been downloaded, you can use it to detect out-of-date drivers and install them on your PC.
Use a controller to auto-aim to an invisible boss
This can work in two ways. Either use area of effect damage to just bomb the entire area, or plug in a controller and rely on the auto-aim to lock onto the invisible boss in Diablo 4.
Wait for a patch
This isn’t the first time either a boss or NPC has gone invisible in Diablo 4 without a fix. However, Blizzard are usually made aware of it pretty soon and will release a patch for the problem. In this case, patience is key, and we will all just have to wait for the solution. Until then, restarting your client seems like the best option, sadly.
