For as fun as Ready or Not may be, it isn’t immune to technical issues. It’s an online shooter, and as such, problems will arise. One of the problems is the game isn’t starting for some players. To fix the “game not launching” error in Ready or Not, read on.
Ready or Not: How to fix game not launching error
This problem seems to be only happening with the current update for Ready or Not. To make matters worse, you must update the game to play it. Luckily, there are a few tricks that can (hopefully) resolve it. Try the following methods and the game-launching error may go away after you’ve done one or all of them. This way you can get back to attempting that S-Rank.
- Check the integrity of the files first. This is usually a universal fix for most problems since Steam automatically patches up any corrupted files that could cause this issue. Doing so is just as easy. You just need to go to Ready or Not in your Steam library and right-click it. Press properties from the drop-down menu, and it’ll open up a new window. Press Installed Files in the left bar, and then navigate to Veirfty Intergrity of Files. Now all you need to do is take a few minutes for Steam to check if everything is working.
- Restarting your computer can be an option. While unverified, this step works more often than not. Sometimes a game just needs a new start to work and that’s done by restarting. My advice would be to do this step second if verifying does not work.
- Some players have said that checking the files doesn’t fix the issue. To that, I would recommend giving the game a clean install by first removing it from your platform. When you do, Ready or Not has a fresh start which might prevent the error from popping up altogether.
