All Fortnite ‘login failed’ error fixes

I have seen many people report the Fortnite “login failed” error code on consoles, particularly Xbox, but Fortnite login errors can happen on any platform. Because of that, here are a few surefire fixes that’ll get rid of the Fortnite “login failed” bug and get you back into the game.

Reset your Xbox

In my research, I’ve found that a fix that worked for many people is to factory reset their Xbox. Of course, this only works if you’re on Xbox, but if you are on PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, or PC, power cycling your device can also fix this issue.

To factory reset your Xbox, go to settings, then profile and system, then console info, then reset console. You’ll get an option to keep your games and apps which, when selected, allows you to keep everything. Don’t worry about losing games, apps, captures, saved data, or anything else if you select the keep games and apps option.

Power cycle your device

While you can find similar reset options on other devices and they can work the same way to fix your Fortnite login error code, you can also power cycle your device.

To do this, shut off your device and wait 30 seconds. Then, unplug the power cable from the outlet. Wait another 30 seconds, and then plug it back in. Boot up your device and try logging into Fortnite again.

For some reason, power cycling your device like this is a great way to eliminate any errors that might occur. It gives your device a refresh that can fix issues.

Check your internet

You need to have working internet to play Fortnite, which means you could be getting the login error if your internet is faulty.

Check that your device has a solid connection to the internet. Check that your WiFi router is working properly. If you can, I suggest running an ethernet cable from your router to your device to make sure you have a solid internet connection.

I’ve seen a lot of people find success in restarting their router. Like power cycling your device, fully restarting your router can give it a refresh which can eliminate any connection issues.

Reach out to Fortnite Status on Twitter (or X)

If none of these fixes work, you can try tweeting to Fortnite Status directly on Twitter (or X). I’ve seen people do this and Fortnite Status usually replies back since they want to make sure their game is working properly.

Make sure to provide as many details as you can in your tweet including your platform and what you’ve tried to fix it. Hopefully, something in this guide or Fortnite Status can help you out.
