A few methods to get your loadouts back in MW3

Issues with loadouts can arise in several situations. Sometimes, it happens with Zombies, other times with multiplayer. Luckily, there are fixes for both.

  • Enter and exit a Zombies lobby – All you need to do to get your custom loadouts working in MW3 is enter and exit a Zombies lobby. Somehow, this triggers your settings to reset and return all your custom weapons. Just enter, then exit a zombie’s lobby.
  • Extract from Zombies – If the previous solution doesn’t get them working, you can try playing and extracting from a Zombies game to fix your custom loadouts bug in MW3.
  • Remove ‘Hijacked IFF Strobe’ – There are some bugs in Modern Warfare 3. Sometimes, having the Hijacked IFF Probe will result in your custom loadouts not functioning. Remove this from your build to have them available again.
  • Copy/paste your loadouts – If your custom loadouts aren’t working, try using the copy function in MW3. Head into your loadouts screen. From here, you need to select the options button at the bottom. You can duplicate your loadout to an empty space.

  • Check for Updates – A common problem found with any error in Modern Warfare 3 is from a missing update to the game. The simple solution for this is to close the game and restart Steam or your console. This will trigger any downloads that need to happen to get the game working correctly again.
  • Turn off the Free Loadout option – In Zombies, turning off the Free Loadout option can often fix the problems with your custom loadouts not working in MW3.

Loadouts aren’t the only thing wrong with MW3 right now, as players have lost the ability to control Cruise Missles.
