All MW3 ‘Can’t play on PS5’ error fixes
There’s truly nothing worse than trying to play a game of MW3 and getting stopped in your tracks by an impenetrable wall of error codes. If you can’t play MW3 on your PS5 thanks to an error code, here is what you need to do.
Check your internet
It’s likely that the error you’re getting is because of server issues which means connectivity. Make sure that the MW3 error isn’t on your end by checking your internet connection.
To do this, I recommend checking your WiFi and router. Make sure both are functioning properly. Next, if you’re able, run an ethernet cable from your router to your device. This is the only way to confirm that your internet connection is or isn’t the problem.
Download all the MW3 files
If the internet isn’t the issue, the next thing you need to do is confirm that you’ve downloaded all the MW3 files. To do this, you need to launch the Call of Duty game which is called Call of Duty HQ.
Once here, press the option button and tab over to the settings. Select “Manage Files.” Then, make sure you’ve downloaded Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. I would recommend downloading MW2 and Warzone too as I’ve experienced errors when all of these files aren’t downloaded.
Check the MW3 server status
With that out of the way, the next thing you can do is check the MW3 servers. The best place to do that is on the official Activision site. They have a section for Modern Warfare 3 up and running and it’s here that you’ll see if the server is running on your platform.
Wait for Activision to fix the error
If you’ve tried all of the fixes above to no avail, the only thing you can do is wait for Activision to fix the MW3 servers.
The servers themselves might be suffering DDoS attacks which is all too common these days. I suggest following the Call of Duty Updates Twitter (or X) to stay up-to-date with what is happening with MW3.
