How to find Weapons Bunkers and use Mod Benches in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2

Claim that high tier loot.

Weapon Bunkers offer players a great place to spend Gold Bars in exchange for powerful upgrades. These areas function similarly to Vaults from C5S1 but with several key differences. Here’s how to find Weapons Bunkers and use Mod Benches in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2.

Weapons Bunkers can be found in five locations on the map, and I’ve marked the areas in the picture above. These Bunkers will appear in the same place every match but aren’t always open. If you find a Bunker Door wrapped in chains, it won’t open for the entire game.

The remaining doors will open mid-way into the match. Bunkers are heavily contested at the time of writing, although I expect them to quiet down as the season progresses. Weapon Bunkers are great loot spots containing rare Weapons, Gold Bars, and a Mod Bench.

How to use Mod Benches in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2

You can use Mod Benches to add or modify attachments on your guns. The Benches may seem a little overwhelming, but you’ll get used to them. First, interact with the Mod Bench, and your equipped weapon will be displayed. You can scroll through your guns on the bench just like you swap weapons during gameplay.

You’ll see a small selection of mod slots, and you can purchase attachments to fill them. Most guns will have at least one attachment installed already, and you can overwrite this if you wish. For example, if your Reaper Sniper Rifle has a short-range scope, you can buy a long-range one to replace it. Weapons of higher rarity will usually have more attachments installed by default.

Adding attachments costs Gold, and while it’s not too pricey, it does add up if you use Mod Benches every match. Keep in mind that some attachments work better on particular weapons. For example, there’s no need to put a magnifying scope on a Shotgun even though you can.

What Mods should you use on my guns in Fortnite?

I recommend experimenting with different attachments to find what works best for you. My go-to attachments are always extended magazines, which allow me to take on multiple opponents without reloading.

The Frenzy Auto Shotgun, in particular, benefits from a Drum Mag as it chews through ammunition quickly and takes an age to reload. I also prefer a traditional rifle scope on my Sniper Rifles for extreme long-range battles.

Chapter 5 Season 2, offers plenty to see and do. The Weapon’s Bunkers offer players an easy way to find some sweet loot, and the new Medallions are game-changing.
