How to find Elon Musk in Cyberpunk 2077

Involved with Arasaka, it would seem.

If you’re the type who enjoys cameo appearances, you’ll definitely want to know how and where to find the NPC in Cyberpunk 2077 who is presumably Elon Musk.

It’s unsurprising to consider such a cameo in a futuristic neon and gritty game world where technology is disturbingly intertwined with human beings. Musk is known for his obsession and business involvement with cutting-edge technologies and conceptual futurism.

There’s also a bit of an odd backstory for how this cameo all came about, which feels in perfect synchrony with Musk’s demeanor.

How to find Elon Musk in Cyberpunk 2077

So, there’s a bit of bad news regarding positively identifying Elon Musk in Cyberpunk 2077. We’re still looking for a hidden cameo that will be confirmed as the real deal, but this is what we know so far.

There’s an NPC that shows up early on in the game with an uncanny resemblance to Elon Musk. Although this is apparently not him, the outfit, appearance, and face seem more than fitting.

This scene is easy to visit if you start a new game and choose the Corporate life path to start at Arasaka. The game begins with V in a bathroom looking into a mirror.

As the conversation with Jackie progresses, a man walks into the bathroom with a pair of aviator sunglasses and a golden vest. Look a little closer and you’ll notice how similar the face is to Musk’s, along with the signature aviator sunglasses. He’ll briefly regard V before heading into one of the bathroom stalls and locking the door.

It seems a bit hard to believe this is not our man, but we also don’t have any better leads or a direct source other than word of mouth.

Armed, but not dangerous

So, here’s the scoop on how this all came about. Think what you will of Elon Musk, but he does hold an unshakable influence over the world at this point and tends to enjoy flaunting his personality and love for all things futuristic.

His ex-girlfriend Grimes was recording dialogue for a character named Lizzy-Wizzy for a questline called “Violence.” Well, Musk decided to pay a visit during one of the sessions, walking in with the idea to get a cameo, along with a 200-year-old flintlock pistol. Musk plays it off as a joke to this day, though it certainly must have been a weird experience for the developers. At some point, he apparently asked for the cameo in Cyberpunk 2077.

That’s all we know regarding where and how to find Elon Musk in Cyberpunk 2077, but we’ll keep an eye out if he officially pops up one day along with his ancient firearm.
