Where is the Dawnbreaker in Gatekeeper?

The Dawnbreaker in Gatekeeper is a structure in a fixed location that you can find on your runs. Thankfully, you won’t need to delve deep into the game to find it. You could find it in the first stage.

The Dawnbreaker will be found in Runewood, on the Aurora planet. Thankfully, this is the first planet you start with when embarking on a run. Go to the top of the map, and you’ll find it behind the trees.

In Gatekeeper, each planet has numerous locations that you could visit on your runs. In a run, however, you’ll only visit three before you’re sent to the next planet. The best way to find the Dawnbreaker then, is to keep restarting your runs until you luck out and start in Runewood.

I have a slight suspicion that it’s a little rarer to land on Runewood, as it took me so many attempts before the game spat me out there.

Although you’ve found it, you won’t be able to activate it, however. Not without something extra.

How to activate the Dawnbreaker in Gatekeeper

When trying to activate the Dawnbreaker in Gatekeeper, you’ll find that you can’t. Also, interestingly, there is a strange symbol above it. That symbol represents Omni Stones, and you’ll need ten of them if you wish to activate the Dawnbreaker.

Omni Stones are earned rarely from killing enemies, although I’ve found they always drop from bosses at the end of every third stage. So before you go looking for the Dawnbreaker, I’d suggest you go and grab some Omni Stones first.

Thankfully, these Omni Stones do persist between runs, as they’re primarily used to purchase more Artifacts, so after some runs, as long as you’re good, will net you with enough Omni Stones to activate the Dawnbreaker.

Upon activating the Dawnbreaker, you’ll immediately unlock Bastion, the melee-focused Gatekeeper who wields the Dawnbreaker to crush his foes. He’s great at stunning and deals more damage the more enemies there are around him – great for enemy control and breaking through hordes.

Now that you know exactly what you’ve got to do to unlock Bastion in Gatekeeper, make sure to also try and unlock the others.
