LEGO Fortnite has a major emphasis on stations, and some of them will require some pretty tricky materials. One of these is Blastcore, which will be used for the Metal Smelter, and we’re going to break down where players can obtain it within LEGO Fortnite.
LEGO Fortnite: Where to find Blastcore
Blastcore, as noted above, is one of the crafting materials needed for the Metal Smelter, a station that players will be able to take advantage of later on throughout LEGO Fortnite.
Like any survival game, there’s going to be a need for pretty much every material you find within the game, and players will want to seek these out as early as they can so they can get ahead of the curve.
Blastcore is going to be a tricky material for players to find, and from what we can tell, it’s primarily found in the caves placed within the desert biomes. Furthermore, this material will need some combat to obtain, as players will need to eliminate the Blaster mob throughout these caves, which, thankfully, is rather common.
Once you’ve located some of these mobs, go ahead and eliminate some of these, and hopefully, Blastcore should drop at a decent rate, allowing you to exit the cave and head back home.

Other materials needed to craft Metal Smelters in LEGO Fortnite include:
- 15 Brightcores
- 35 Obsidian Slabs
- 3 Blastcores
So, quite the haul of items is needed, and players will want to stock up on their food if they intend on venturing within these caves, as some of the monsters are fierce.
However, LEGO Fortnite offers some incredible weapons for players to use, and combat is a blast throughout the game, so it shouldn’t be too much of an issue.
In the meantime, we also recommend optimizing your base as best you can, as the elements have proven to be fierce within LEGO Fortnite thus far.
