Where to find Bladed Rhino Beetle in Tears of the Kingdom (TotK)

They're not on Abbey Road.

In The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, you’ll likely spend a lot of time hunting down components for your favorite recipes. After all, they can turn a challenging dungeon or region into a walk in the park. But finding some of the rarest ingredients is a challenge itself. Here is our guide on how to find the Bladed Rhino Beetle in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

Tears of the Kingdom – Where to find Bladed Rhino Beetle

As insects go, the Bladed Rhino Beetle is one of the rarest in the game. I found that you’re most likely to find it in the Faron region, but even then, there are additional requirements.

The best place to find the Bladed Rhino Beetle is in Brona Forest, a short distance northwest of Lakeside Stable. The beetle only comes out at night, meaning after 10 PM or so. It also won’t appear in the middle of the rain. That’s a shame, because rain is especially common in the Faron region.

To find the Bladed Rhino Beetle, I suggest that you head northwest from the stable and watch for large, fallen trees. The black beetle has a rhino-like tusk and likes to relax on rotting bark. There are other beetles in this area. For instance, the Energetic Rhino Beetle is fairly common (and easier to see, being yellow). When approaching any beetle, move at a crouch and proceed slowly to avoid scaring it away.

I found the Bladed Rhino Beetle by climbing onto the fallen tree and checking near its edge. There may be others in the area, so make sure to take a picture for your Compendium any time you find a new variety of beetle, which can make them easier to find down the road. The official in-game listing indicates the Energetic Rhino Beetle is common in West Necluda and East Necluda. I haven’t personally had any luck searching the trees in the Necluda region but maybe you’ll fare better.

By combining the Bladed Rhino Beetle with monster parts such as Bokoblin Guts or Bokoblin Horn, you can produce the Mighty Elixir. This potion briefly improves your attack power, so I think it’s nice to have it available when you face powerful adversaries.
