The Restless Spirit is one of the rarest encounters in Remnant 2, randomly spawned in the N’Erud biome. This guide aims to help you find the Restless Spirit boss in Remnant 2 and tips on how to defeat it.
Where to find the Restless Spirit boss in Remnant 2
The first thing players need to know about finding the Restless Spirit in Remnant 2 is that it all comes down to luck and doesn’t spawn in every playthrough. Restless Spirit spawns during the Gravity Drive event, which rarely occurs and may take the player several rerolls of N’Erud to find it.
The Gravity Event can happen in the following N’Erud side dungeons:
- Astropath’s Respite
- Spectrum Nexus
- Terminus Station
- Tower of the Unseen
When you reach one of the locations mentioned, search the entirety of the side dungeon. Remember, just because you rolled one of the correct locations doesn’t mean the Restless Spirit boss fight and Gravity Drive event spawned in your playthrough.
You will know when you have encountered the Gravity Drive Event if there is a large pit with a red glow coming from it. Make your way down the pit.
At the bottom of the pit, you will find a single door that will lead you to a purple vortex. The purple vortex is the Gravity Drive Event, which you can interact with by getting close to it and pressing the interaction button. Doing so will lead to the Restless Spirit boss fight.
How to beat the Restless Spirit in Remnant 2
While finding the Restless Spirit is a huge pain, the fight itself is relatively straightforward and boils down to staying on your feet and dodging to avoid projectiles. Below is a compiled list of all movesets of the Restless Spirit and tips on how to deal with them.
- Projectiles: Restless Spirit will summon three purple projectiles around its body and shoot them at you. Dodge left to right until no more projectiles are surrounding the boss.
- Crawl: The boss will crawl toward you at rapid speed. Dodge to the left or right to avoid it and then unload bullets after it misses.
- Possession: An enemy on the field will become possessed and glow purple, raising its stats. Focus on the possessed enemy and kill it as quickly as possible.
Now that you understand the Restless Spirit’s moveset, all you need to do now is find openings in the fight (between movesets) to unload bullets into the boss. There are decent-sized gaps between its attacks, allowing plenty of time for you to deal damage.
I recommend equipping Nightfall as your primary weapon, mainly due to the Dreadwalker mod it comes equipped with. Dreadwalker will allow you to enter the Nightmare realm, granting you infinite ammo for a certain amount of time. Using the Dreadwalker mod is a great way to reduce the Restless Spirit’s health bar quickly.
Restless Spirit boss rewards
Defeating the Restless Spirit boss will reward the player with the Timewave Mutator. The in-game description of the Timewave Mutator reads: “Mod use applies Slow status on all enemies within 7.5m for 3.5 seconds.”
Further upgrading the Timewave Mutator will increase its effects, and reaching level 10 will enhance the weapon’s ranged damage by 15% to enemies inflicted with Slow status.
