Ways to plunder The Vault of Diablo III

The Vault can be sprung on you at any time during your gameplay; there are only a few stipulations to meet. The first is that you are at least level 70, and the second is that you’re playing in Adventure Mode. If you meet these two requirements, you have a chance of vault access.

Treasure goblins are the way to find and access the vault in Diablo III, as you kill these little critters, they present a chance to leave behind a portal. The actual odds come in at 1 in 50, which if you have been playing enough, isn’t so bad. They can be sneaky little fellows, always appearing at the busiest times, so make sure to focus on them.

Use the Puzzle Ring

If you are in possession of the Puzzle Ring, you can transmute it in Kanai’s Cube and open a portal directly in town. The level of the ring will directly affect how much loot is available in The Vault. The ring will be lost in the process.

Enter The Vault in Diablo III

Once the portal to the realm has unlocked, everyone who was present during its appearance can make their way through. When you find and access The Vault in Diablo III, you will be presented with gold in the millions, gems, and loot goblins galore with nowhere to run. These are protected by Peons and Hobgoblins, easy foes for a level 70 player.

The final encounter

Enter Greed, the baroness of the Treasure Realm. This boss holds the largest horde for you to get your hands on. She sleeps on her throne, but kicking the chest beneath her feet will wake her and behind the final battle. She has four attacks.

  • Melee – A powerful but slow attack with her Club.
  • Charge – A three-part attack that can be stopped if she charges into a wall. This will cause a treasure goblin to appear.
  • Shockwave – This wide and fast attack causes knockback and opens a fissure in the ground that causes damage.
  • Falling chests – As the name suggests, chests fall from the sky causing damage to players beneath. The lower the health of Greed, the more chests fall.

Endgame

Once Greed reaches 5% health, she will be crushed by the very thing she loves so much: a treasure chest. Open up the chest, now sitting in a pool of blood, and grab the loot along with the two guaranteed Legendary items.
