How to filter TMs in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

To the Technical Machine Machine!

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet are massive games that you can spend many hours trying to become the very best that no-one ever was. From battling Pokémon to customizing your character, Pokémon Scarlet and Violet offer a lot of options for you to do while you’re searching for your very own treasure. One of the things you will be doing over the course of the game is finding new TMs for your Pokémon to learn. After you find TMs, you can then craft them at nearby Pokémon Centers by using the Technical Machine Machine. Finding moves that singular Pokémon can learn is a little difficult if you don’t filter the TMs by learnable moves. Here’s our guide on how to filter TMs in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.

The first thing you need to do to be able to filter TMs in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet is head to your nearest Pokémon Center stand. Once you’re here, walk up to the Technical Machine Machine, and select the option that says “I want to filter for learnable moves,” after you do that, you will be taken into a menu with every TM you can craft.

When you’re in this menu in the Technical Machine Machine, you’ll be asked to select a Pokémon for you to be able to run the learnable moves filter on in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. Don’t do as I did here, and accidentally just press the confirm button thinking it will let you select it after this, because you actually select your Pokémon while this text box is up on the screen. So select which Pokémon you want to be able to filter your TMs for learnable moves, and you’ll be able to see every move that you can craft that’s able to be learned by that Pokémon.

This feature is super handy because the Technical Machine Machine menu can be a very long list of moves that can confuse you pretty easily. So this feature is incredibly appreciated, and hopefully you can appreciate it now that you know how to filter TMs in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.
