How to Evolve Feebas to Milotic in Pokémon GO

It's time to level up!

There are tons of different quirks and easter eggs in Pokémon Go, just like all of the other games in Nintendo’s Pokémon franchise. You’ll find lots of hidden references to past games nestled away where only the most dedicated of gamers can find them, and there are parts of the game that are unique to everything else inside of it. Several Pokémon evolutions are no different, with ways of evolving that are not just the standard route that’s commonplace among most Pokémon. But don’t worry! Keep reading to find out everything you’ll have to do to evolve your Feebas in no time!

The first thing that you’ll need to do in order to make this evolution happen is, obviously, catch a Feebas! Your best bet is to head down to the water in order to do this, or try to go for a quick walk while it’s raining if you’re brave enough. Feebas are a little tough to obtain though, since it is a rare Pokémon. If you’re having trouble catching one in the wild, try enabling an incense or hatching one of your eggs. Feebas can appear from a 10km egg, so gather a bunch of those and head outside for a stroll!

Once that’s done, you need to set the Feebas as your Buddy. This means the Feebas will walk with you on your map, and you will slowly rack up kilometers with it by your side. The end goal is 20 kilometers, and after that you will unlock the evolution option. You will be able to see the progress that you’re making by checking your Pokémon’s status screen. Check where the option that’s called ‘evolve’ is, and it will show how much more you’ve got to go. It costs 100 Feebas Candy to fully evolve the Pokémon in Pokémon Go, so be sure to stock up beforehand so you can transform your Feebas into a Milotic right away! An additional plus from having a Pokémon as a Buddy is that you can occasionally get more candy, which will help you reach the 100 you need in this case far quicker. It’s like taking out two birds with one stone!

Is There Any Other Method?

If you find yourself unable to walk the physical steps to evolve Feebas, there is another, quicker way to exploit unlocking the evolution option to turn your Pokémon into a Milotic. You will still need to capture a Feebas and set it as your Buddy, but once you’ve done that simply switch it out with another Pokémon. Check your the profile of your Feebas and look for the progress bar. If you’ve done everything correctly and the exploit still works, you should have gained around 2km of distance – without even moving! Now, repeat these steps another 10 times or so until the progress bar is fully completed. Congratulations…but maybe you should get outside for a quick walk anyways, just for good measure.
