How to evolve Duraludon in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet The Indigo Disk

The Steel Dragon has become even stronger.

In The Indigo Disk, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet‘s latest DLC, Duraludon gained a new evolution into Archaludon. This doesn’t work just like other evolutions, however.

Where to find Duraludon in The Indigo Disk

In The Indigo Disk, Duraludon can be found anywhere loitering around the Polar Biome in the Terrarium. Despite their color being white as snow, you’ll easily be able to spot them, especially higher up the mountains.

Once you’ve found one, you’ll have to capture it, as is standard procedure. I would stray away from fielding Pokemon who are super-effective against Steel and Dragon types, such as Fairy or Fire, as you may actually defeat the Duraludon instead of weakening it.

It does have a low catch rate, so you may want to come prepared with plenty of Pokeballs and a determined spirit. Good luck!

Evolving Duraludon into Archaludon in The Indigo Disk

To evolve Duraludon into Archaludon in The Indigo Disk, you need one Metal Alloy. This item can be found in numerous ways:

  • Purchased from the School Store for 300 BP.
  • Rewarded for registering 190 Pokemon in the Blueberry Pokedex.
  • You can use the Item Printer to print more Metal Alloys.

It isn’t easy to get the Metal Alloy, and you certainly won’t be able to get your hands on one in the early game. You can simply grind BP to buy it, but this is time-consuming and may impede on your fun. In this case, I’d recommend pacing yourself out, and maybe saving up slowly over time.

With the Metal Alloy in hand, your Duraludon will be able to evolve into Archaludon.

Simply select the Metal Alloy in the “Other Items” pocket in your bag, and use it on the Duraludon in your party. This works exactly like the classic evolution stones you’re probably used to. Note that you needn’t level it up, as it’ll instantly evolve into Archaludon there and then! It’ll immediately learn the move Electro Shot.

One thing I find equally hilarious and awesome about Archaludon is that this Pokemon is quite literally a suspension bridge. No, honestly.

Archaludon is a very powerful Pokemon, and any trainer out there would benefit from having one on their team. Not only that, but the effort required in acquiring the Metal Alloy makes it a worthy trophy, too.

Now that you know all about evolving your Duralodon, why don’t you find out when legendaries unlock, to test your mettle?
