Every time you approach Myrddin’s house in Checkpoint Town in Dragon’s Dogma 2, he tells you he doesn’t have appointments and says he won’t extend hospitality toward one “bereft of decorum.” Read on to figure out how to get into Myrddin’s house in Dragon’s Dogma 2.
Dragon’s Dogma 2 Myrddin: How to get inside his house
While you can break into Myrddin’s house, my colleagues figured out that Myrddin doesn’t like that and will start casting spells at you on sight. If you want to befriend Myrddin to start his quest, you need to figure out what “bereft of decorum” means.
I tried changing Vocations to Sorcerer and tried multiple times, and still, Myrddin doesn’t let you in. The only way to get into Myrddin’s house and stay on his good side is to wear Courtly clothes. I learned this after leaving and returning to Checkpoint Town. An NPC named Timothy approached me and gave me an additional hint that Myrddin looks at you “from head to toe” and “expects nobility.”
The Courtly Tunic and Courtly Breeches you wore to complete The Stolen Throne quest will work here; hopefully, you kept them or know where to get more. I kept mine in my storage which made it easy to return to an Inn, dawn the clothes, talk to Myrddin, and get inside. After he sees you in the Courtly clothes once, you’re good to wear whatever you want and come and go with ease.
Once inside Myrddin’s house, you’ll start The Sorcerer’s Appraisal quest which requires you to find five extremely rare grimoires. One is located in his study upstairs, but if you steal it, he’ll attack you. I stole it anyway and ran away. I’m sure he’ll forget about it after a few days. If not, you can always kill him and revive him with a Wakestone to get back on track.
