All throughout Faerun, you’ll find or be able to purchase different-colored dyes. These dyes can change the color of cloth, leather, and even metal. How you can dye your clothes in Baldur’s Gate 3 is simply by combining the dye and the item in your inventory. Not sure exactly how to do this? We’ll outline step-by-step instructions on how this works.

  1. Go into your inventory and right-click a dye
  2. Select ‘Combine’
  3. In the pop-up, drag over the clothing/armor you want to dye in the empty box
  4. Select the ‘Combine’ button

That’s really how simple it is to dye your clothing and armor in this game! I personally thought I’d have to go visit a certain character who could do it for me, but it’s more simple than that. Once you dye your item, the dye is consumed.

You can dye practically any clothing or armor item you have, or any item your companions have as well. Just be wary that the color on the bottle may appear different from the dye inside. For example, I thought my Drake General Dye would make my armor blue, like the bottle. Instead, it turned out to be a red color.

Not happy with the dye job? You can Trade or Barter for Dye Remover with some vendors, which you would then combine with your dyed item. That’s really all it takes to dye your clothes in Baldur’s Gate 3.
