What if you’re playing a multiplayer game in Palworld and you want to restart your character? While there is no direct way to do it, there is a workaround — here’s how to delete your character from Multiplayer in Palworld.
Restarting your character in Palworld multiplayer
While it’s possible to do this, it requires both the player and the host to dig into the game files and delete certain things.
For the player, navigate to Palworld’s location in local App Data on your computer. This is pathed as C:\Users\[Username]\AppData\Local\Pal\Saved\SaveGames. You will most likely see a folder that’s a string of letters and a file called UserOption.sav. Delete the folder (though I would first make a backup just in case this goes wrong, of course).
Now you have to go to Palworld in your Steam library and right-click it to bring up Properties. Turn off the Steam Cloud sync.
For the host
The host of the server must also navigate to the SaveGames file. This time, the random string of numbers folder must be accessed until you find the file named steam_autocloud.vdf. Delete that, then go into the file labeled ‘Players’. The host will always be the file that ends in 1. To figure out who is the person with the right player file, your best bet is to have them log on with you so they show up as most recently modified. With that narrowed down, delete their .sav file.

You then have to go into the backup folder followed by the one labeled ‘world’. You’ll see a bunch of files by date. From here, you have to go into every single one and delete the same player number’s .sav file from every one of them. But once you’re done, relaunch the game and the server. Steam will ask you what files to keep, and you’ll have to select Local to prevent undoing your work. Now when the affected player logs on, they should be prompted to remake their character.
And that should be it! That’s how to delete your character off Multiplayer in Palworld. It’s a little involved, but hopefully, they’ll make it an in-game option in a future update. If you need to know how to start a server and play with your friends, we’ve got just the thing for you!
