How to defeat The Eye in Armored Core 6

Some enemies are tiny, fast, and destructive in Armored Core 6, whereas others are slow, hulking, and even more destructive. The Eye is one of the latter. This huge enemy, sitting atop the strider in the Destroy the Weaponized Mining Rig mission, can cause some real issues. It has a huge range and will one-tap you if you’re at anything below full health. As you make your way over the desert to fight it, you may find yourself becoming toasted too often. Thankfully, I figured out how to defeat The Eye in Armored Core 6.

Armored Core build

Your best bet for this is to go with an Armored Core build that has a lot of speed and decent hovering capabilities. Bipedal legs are perfect, and plasma cannons and grenade launchers will serve you well. Stagger isn’t a big element in this fight, so just go with something that has huge, fast damage. I also had the plasma sword, which I found came in handy right at the end.

Approach the Mining Rig

You’re not going to be able to take cover from the searing beam that fires across the desert here, nor are you going to have the time to destroy the enemies. Your best bet is to attack boost across the field. As the huge warm-up charges the Eye, prepare to dodge the beam before it shoots.

Ignore the Armored Cores on the floor; they simply serve as a distraction as you approach The Eye and the Mining Rig.

Destroy the leg

Bring the Mining Rig down using the heavy but slow weapons you have equipped. Shoot out it’s exposed leg. Once it is crippled, you can make your way up its body towards The Eye with your Armored Core.

Destroy the Generators

It is imperative that you keep the bulk of the Mining Rig between your Armored Core and the Eye. There are brief moments after it fires in which it needs to cool. Use these to jump between the various generators and destroy them quickly. They have very little health, so you should only take a few shots to destroy them with your Armored Core.

Defeat The Eye

Once the generators are down, you can finally fight The Eye. You will notice that in front of the Eye are a lot of places behind which you can hide your Armored Core. I would suggest using these until you know the Eye is cooling. Once it has fired its laser, pop up, lock onto the center, and hammer away until you see it telegraphing its next shot.

There is no point in rushing this fight; one shot will destroy you. Take your time, time your shots, and once it is staggered, make the most of it. I had a plasma sword in my right hand and used this to put the final blows in once staggered.
