As you play through The Final Shape campaign in Destiny 2, you’ll encounter special Bound enemies that are invulnerable to normal gunfire and abilities. The game teaches you how to deal with them, but if you weren’t paying attention in the heat of battle, you may have forgotten how to break their shields.
Bound enemies, the ones with a pink health bar that are immune to bullets, are incredibly common during The Final Shape campaign in Destiny 2, so learning their weaknesses is crucial if you want to finish the story on Legendary difficulty. The new Prismatic subclass is the key to defeating them, but you still can’t just toss random Prismatic abilities at them and call it a day. Here’s what you need to do to make Bound enemies vulnerable in Destiny 2 The Final Shape.
How to Damage Glowing Bound Enemies in Destiny 2
To break the shields of Bound enemies and make them vulnerable to normal damage sources in Destiny 2 The Final Shape, you need to equip the Prismatic subclass and activate Transcendence. While Transcendence is active, you can deal damage to Bound enemies and remove their shields so you can use your regular weapons and abilities on them.
To activate Transcendence, you need to fill up two bars beneath your Super meter. Dealing Light damage will fill one bar while dealing Darkness damage will fill the other. Kinetic weapon damage will fill both bars, which is very helpful if your skills are on cooldown. Once the bars are full, they’ll unite into one long pink bar and you can activate Transcendence.
During the Transcendence period, your grenade will be replaced by a special Prismatic grenade that deals a mixture of Light and Dark damage. Dealing grenade damage while Transcendence is active will rapidly restore your melee energy and vice versa.
Every target you defeat while Transcendent will extend the duration of your buffs. Also, being Transcendent increases your overall ability regeneration rate, weapon damage, and damage reduction as well.
Mastering the Transcendence mechanic is very important in The Final Shape campaign, but you won’t see Bound enemies appear in much content outside of that. Make sure you keep the Prismatic subclass equipped while playing The Final Shape campaign just in case though. It’ll also give you an opportunity to test out all the new Prismatic Aspects and Fragments that you can unlock within the Pale Heart of the Traveler, too.
