If you’re new to the Diablo series, this mechanic may confuse you. However, if you’re like me and played Diablo 3, you should already be used to this. Regardless if you’re new or old, this guide can act as a refresher for some. Seasonal Characters aren’t new to the series, they appeared in the last game. This system made players try new characters new each season. It added more life to the game post-campaign. For the first season of Diablo and the rest of the ones that come after, you’ll be able to create a Seasonal Character that you can use throughout the seasons. So to get started on your Seasonal Journey read this guide on how to create a Seasonal Character in Diablo 4.
Diablo: 4: How to create a Seasonal Character
When I first launched into the game, I didn’t notice the option to create a seasonal hero. In Diablo 3 the choice was very much apparent, but this time around it seems to be tucked away.
The first thing to do is create a new character. Pick a class, gender, and then customize the character to what you want.
After that, you’ll go into a new menu which will give you the option to start a new Seasonal Character on either the seasonal realm or the eternal realm in Diablo 4. To play the season, select the season option. You can also choose the skip the campaign, and you can opt to play on hardcore. However, both of these options are permanent. Once you pick them, you can’t go back.
Note: Make sure you’ve beaten the main story of Diablo 4, otherwise the option won’t show up.
What happens after each season
At the end of every season, your character gets automatically deleted no matter what. This was exactly how it played out in Diablo 3, so expect the same in entry number 4. Working hard on your character just to get it deleted may seem like a turn-off, but it adds longevity. Each season you try something new, this way Diablo 4 can feel fresh every season you play.
