How to craft items in The Front

Pass the wrench.

The Front lets you create dozens upon dozens of items using its crafting system. I’d love to say that all you need are some materials and the right ideas, but it’s actually a little more complicated than that. The Front doesn’t exactly tell you everything you need to know, either. So, here’s a quick guide that’ll help you craft items in The Front.

The Front: How to Craft Items

Crafting items is a simple process in itself in The Front. To craft, just open up your menu and the first tab will be the Crafting menu. The left-hand side will show you all the items you can currently craft. To check if you have the right amount of materials, you can click on the item you want to craft and look at the center menu to see what it needs. Then all you need to do is hit craft and wait for the item to be made in the Crafting Queue. And if you lack the materials to craft an item, you’ll notice that it’s greyed out in the left-hand menu.

As for unlocking new items to craft in The Front, this is a little more complicated. Enter the menu and navigate over to the Tech tab that’s symbolized via a cog with a little lightning bolt in the center. This is where you’ll unlock new recipes to craft. This menu works similarly to a skill tree in other games where you unlock these nodes to gain new recipes. But in order to unlock better recipes, you’ll need to increase your level. You can do this by simply harvesting materials or taking out enemies. Then when you hit the right level, you can just click on the options you’ve unlocked to gain the recipes.

These recipes should then show up in the left-hand menu back in the crafting tab. It’s a bit of a jumbled process, in all honesty, but it’s simple enough once you know how it all works.

The Front is now available in early access on Steam.
