How to craft Illuminator in LEGO Fortnite: All ingredients and locations

Illuminate the night!

The Illuminator is a passive item in LEGO Fortnite that can be equipped to keep a constant glow around you. It’s a difficult item to know how to create, so here is every step to crafting an Illuminator in LEGO Fortnite.

Unlike how a Torch requires you to use your off-hand, the Illuminator is equipped to you and stays on you. It doesn’t run out and stays on you day and night. It appears as glowing dots above your head which is a nice visual — and you’ll have nice visuals at night since you’ll radiate a constant glow.

To craft an Illuminator in LEGO Fortnite, you need to go to the Charm section in your Crafting Bench. The crafting requirements for an Illuminator are high, but thankfully, you only need to craft it once. From there, you need the following items:

  • Three Wool Thread
  • Five Purple Thermal Fish
  • Ten Glass
  • Ten Brightcore

To create a Wool Thread in LEGO Fortnite, you need to put one Wool in the Spinning Wheel. You can easily get Wool by interacting with Sheep in the Grasslands Biome.

There are multiple Thermal Fish types in LEGO Fortnite, but the Illuminator requires the Purple Thermal Fish. Lucky for us, Purple Thermal Fish are found in Grassland and Desert lakes. You can use any kind of Fishing Rod to fish for them; Fishing Rods are made with one Wooden Rod, two Cord, and one Wolf Claw at a Crafting Bench.

It may take time and a bit of luck, but after you’ve reeled in five Purple Thermal Fish, you have what you need to create an Illuminator in LEGO Fortnite. This will take time. Stay patient, and you’ll collect five Purple Thermal Fish in no time.

How to get Glass in LEGO Fortnite

Glass is the hardest-to-get item on this list. You need to have a level nine village because you need a Metal Smelter. Metal Smelters aren’t easy to make, either. They require three Blast Cores, 15 Brightcores, and 35 Obsidian Slabs.

Once you’ve created a Metal Smelter, all you need to create Glass is two Sand and one Brightcore. You can easily get Sand by using a Shovel on the ground. Brightcore is harder to get — you’ll need it for the Metal Smelter, Glass, and ultimately make the Illuminator — but you can find a lot of it in Desert caves.

How to get Brightcore in LEGO Fortnite

Since you need Brightcore to get Glass, it shouldn’t be hard for you to get ten more Brightcore. Search every corner of every Desert cave you come across to farm Brightcore.

Once you have enough Wool Thread, Purple Thermal Fish, Glass, and Brightcore, you can create an Illuminator at your Crafting Bench. And after you’ve done that, you can focus on crafting the Compost Bin to get Biomass.
