Dragons my heart around town...

In The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, you encounter puzzles everywhere you turn. When you visit Thyphlo Ruins, you find several riddles in close proximity. They tend to reference dragons in one way or another. Here is our guide explaining how to complete one of them, The Six Dragons side quest, in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

Tears of the Kingdom – how to complete The Six Dragons side quest

At the Thyphlo Ruins, not far from the front steps of the local skyview tower, you find a researcher named Kazul. He unearths stone tablets as you clear Hyrule’s various temples. Those tablets offer riddles that initiate side quests you must solve to get the Dusk Claymore. To complete The Six Dragons side quest, you must use Sidon’s water ability and swipe at the air while shielded.

First, make sure you’ve cleared the Water Temple. This is a requirement in order for the third tablet to materialize. Once it does appear near Kazul, you can read it to receive the following clue: ‘Display the power of the Sage of Water in the presence of the six dragons.’

The clue references six dragon statues that are positioned somewhere in the Thyphlo Ruins area. For a map leading to their precise location, check the below screenshot.

When you stand facing the dragons, at the center of a pool of muck, you will see a flat square of stone beyond them. Stand right near the dragons, looking out at that slab. Ensure you have summoned Sidon using the Vow of Sidon. I find that when I summon a sage, they always stand a ways from where I want them. However, I can step toward them and then return to my original location and they will then follow me. With his spectral form standing nearby, activate Sidon’s watery shield ability. Then slash at the air while thus protected.

This particular side quest gave me fits, even when I knew what I wanted to do and had found the ring of dragon statue heads. I had to make several attempts. I finally wound up succeeding when I charged the Master Sword and unleashed its circular strike. From what I can tell, you want to stand within the ring and face northwest, facing the precise direction shown on the map in the above screenshot.

If you positioned yourself properly and faced in the right direction, the stone slab will rise from the ground to reveal a treasure chest. Open the chest to acquire five Opal stones. This completes The Six Dragons side quest.
