Learning can be fun in Like a Dragon: Ishin. For starters, the game is based (at least loosely) on actual events that occurred in the late 1800s. At one point, the game also presents a substory that tests your knowledge of basic world geography. If you perform well, you’ll be rewarded. Here is our guide to the Global Fraud substory in Like a Dragon: Ishin.

Like a Dragon: Ishin – How to complete the Global Fraud substory
On the far west side of Teramachi, which is a street along Rakunai’s southern side, you’ll find an old gentleman standing near a building, bemoaning his current predicament. He is a teacher. The parents of some of his students pooled resources to provide a globe for his classroom. However, the gift puts the elderly instructor in a tough spot. He has to show his expertise in world geography, and it turns out he has none. That’s where you enter the picture.
To complete the Global Fraud substory, help the teacher instruct his class. This mostly involves answering trivia questions, which you do with a bit of help from the globe. You must answer a series of questions to surprise and ultimately please the teacher’s star pupil.
After you are introduced to the class, you receive a series of three prompts. Those prompts are listed below, with the answer you should provide indicated in parentheses:
- This small island nation is… (Japan)
- That country is… (The Great Qing)
- Tell us where it is. (Country 4)
After you answer all three questions correctly, a scene follows. The old man and the bright young pupil both learn some things. Then you receive the European Fabric as a reward. The subquest is also marked complete, and you receive the usual Virtue.
Like a Dragon: Ishin can be purchased on Steam and the Xbox marketplace.
