Side quests in Diablo 4 can be easy, and depending on their difficulty, the rewards could be worth it. Most of them are rather straightforward, but you may have to deal with waves of enemies. However, one that stands out called Salt Begets Salt has been leaving many confused. It entails finding an NPC’s goat. While this may sound easy to do, it’s strangely not. The Salt Begets Salt quest in Diablo 4 is a quest that should be easy to do, but if you want to know how to complete it, read this guide.
Diablo 4: How to complete Salt Begets Salt quest
To start this side quest, head to Jirandai. It’s located in the almost center point of the Dry Steppes. If you’re in Act 3, you should have already discovered this location.
Once you’re in this village, look for an NPC named Jargal. He’ll plead to you for your help in recovering his dearly beloved goat. If you pay attention to what he says, Jargal will point out a location: Qara-Yisu.
After you’ve spoken to him, a blue indicator will guide you in Tuji’s general direction. Now, you may be thinking Qara-Yisu is like any other location, however, it’s much more. Qara-Yisu is a stronghold, and if you’ve gone through one, you can probably tell by now how hard they can be.
Make your way to the stronghold. There should also be a waypoint nearby if you haven’t unlocked it.
The hard part is getting past the handful of enemies descending on you, so prepare for a fight. After you’ve won the battle, and slain the creatures, you should already be in the zone where Tuji is.
Tuji can be found on the western part of the blue zone near climable ladders. Sadly, he won’t be alive. As you approach his body, you’ll be given a prompt to interact with him.
After all is said and done, you’ve completed the mission. Fast travel back to Jargal to pick up your reward.
What rewards do you get?
Upon returning to Jargal, and delivering the bad news, he will correct you. According to Jargal, Tuji enjoys salt which puts him into a deep sleep. So he’s alive after all!
Your reward will be gold, XP, and also a cache that you can open at any time.
