How to Complete the Olive Branch Quest in Cyberpunk 2077

Let Alex live, or let Sergei die?

Everyone knows that Cyberpunk 2077 is absolutely filled to the brim with extensive side quests and smaller jobs that your character, V, can partake in. There are lots of missions that serve to help flesh out the world or build character development for NPCs you may have never given a second glance to were it not for a tough experience like a difficult gig. As you gain experience and build on your connections in the world that is Cyberpunk, you will be able to access many different things, and can even become a go-to for some NPCs who are looking to get jobs done quickly and efficiently. One of these jobs is called Olive Branch, and it’s a quest given to you by Wakako Okada where you need to help a man named Sergei Karasinsky deliver a gift to a drop-off address at the Tyger Claws restaurant. Here’s how you can successfully complete the mission.

Your first step in the Olive Branch questline is to meet with Sergei at a designated location at Silk Road that will be marked on your minimap after you speak with Wakako Okada. You will speak with Sergei for a little while before he heads away, and that is when it is revealed to your character that you are actually doing the job all by yourself. Sergei is blacklisted by the Tyger Claws, and so he can’t get close enough to their turf to make the drop-off. This so-called “package” of his is an attempted peace offering to get back into their good graces and hopefully find forgiveness with the Tyger Claws.

After Sergei walks away, you will be given the optional objective of opening the trunk before you begin the trip to the Tyger Claws’ restaurant. We recommend that you do open the trunk, because Sergei’s “package” is actually another person! Speak with him for a while and you will learn that his name is Alex, and he is trapped inside of the trunk. You have the option to let him out, but you can also close the trunk and continue on your mission of driving the poor man to the Tyger Claws.

If you choose to close the trunk, then continue on your route until you reach the waypoint where the Tyger Claws are waiting for you. Hop out, and begin conversation with their leader who will ask you about Sergei and whether he’s told you anything special. After you finish speaking with the leader of the Tyger Claws, leave the area and wait for Okada to call you — this will mean that the mission has been completed.

Can You Save Alex in the Olive Branch Mission?

If you would like to save Alex instead of delivering him to the Tyger Claws, your only chance to free him is when you are speaking to him after opening up the car’s trunk. If you do choose to free the man, you will still complete the Olive Branch mission, and Okada will also call you afterward. However, Okada will also inform you that it is very likely Sergei is going to die because of your decision. It seems both of their lives are in your hands! What are you going to do?
