In The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, you encounter a variety of mythical beasts, alongside the regular Bokoblins and Moblins. It only makes sense that some of your quests would revolve around those majestic flying creatures. Here is our guide explaining how to complete the Goddess Statue of Wisdom side quest in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
Tears of the Kingdom – how to complete the Goddess Statue of Wisdom side quest
There are three goddess statue side quests that you initiate by visiting their individual springs. When you visit a spring, the goddess will ask you to visit the Forgotten Temple. You can easily find the Forgotten Temple entrance in the canyon southeast of Snowfield Stable. The smaller statue wants to learn what has happened to the main statue. When you visit that other location, you find the statue has toppled over and is in disrepair. Then you can report back to the smaller statue that sent you.
To find the Goddess Statue of Wisdom itself, look at the Spring of Wisdom. It is a very short distance east of Mount Lanayru Skyview Tower. For help locating it, see our previous guide telling you where to find the Spring of Wisdom. If the goddess statue waiting within that spring is the first one you have visited, you will need to make the aforementioned trip to the Forgotten Temple to progress the quest.
Once you have located the main statue in the Forgotten Temple and reported your findings, the statue requests an offering. It wants Naydra’s Claw. You get one by interacting with the large ice dragon you might have noticed gliding around the nearby skies.
Naydra is tricky to track down, since the ice dragon doesn’t remain in any one place. Instead, it has a route it follows. We’ve written a previous guide explaining where to find Naydra. I’ve had the best luck finding the dragon accidentally while exploring the hills outside Kakariko Village at night. The dragon descends into the chasm in a lazy dive. Its approach makes jumping on board a cinch (though you need Snowquill armor to withstand the temperatures).
To shoot the foot and grab Naydra’s Claw, don’t try to ride the creature. Instead, approach the dragon from above after launching from a nearby tower. Then, as you drop even with the dragon, initiate slow motion by pressing and holding the shoulder button to start aiming with your bow. Fire an arrow or two at the foot. Then let time resume its normal progression. If your aim was true, you will see a flash of light. A Claw piece should drop. Make sure to follow it and grab it. You can only get a single Claw during any encounter.
On a recent trip, I rested until evening in Lookout Landing. Then I fast traveled to Sahasra Slope Skyview Tower and launched. I then paraglided northeast and caught up to the dragon as it had just begun to descend into the chasm. Shooting and collecting a Claw was easy. I suggest trying that approach. Once you have Naydra’s Claw, offer it up to the statue for a Sapphire reward. This entails dropping the item on the platform partially submerged in the water, ahead of where you can pray to the statue. When you do so, you complete the side quest.
