The Season of the Wish tasks guardians with taking on the Starcrossed Exotic mission multiple times on Legendary difficulty. It’s no easy feat, and the final boss makes it much harder. Fortunately, it doesn’t have to be that way. Let me show you how to cheese the Starcrossed Exotic mission final boss in Destiny 2.

Before we dive in, I highly recommend bringing the Wish Ender Exotic Bow for this mission. This strategy works no matter the difficulty and can be done with a Fireteam or solo.
Complete the Starcrossed Exotic Mission as usual and approach the boss’s lair. When you’re ready, one player must drop down the hole (pictured above) to trigger the fight. Instead of running into the arena, this player must try to climb back up. A Strand Grapple Grenade will make this easy.Â
If you don’t have Grapple Grenades, you can reach a tiny ledge by jumping beside the front-left wall.
If you’re struggling, look into the corner like I am (pictured above), jump, and carefully land before jumping out the way you came in. Once you’re out of the arena, equip your Wish Ender and shoot the boss through the wall. The transparent wall lets your arrows through for some reason, but most weapons don’t work. You need the Crowned By Dragons buff to damage the boss, and there are wells to get it on the platform behind you.
This strategy can make the fight take a while as some Goblins will try to make the boss immune, but just keep plinking away, and you’ll eventually emerge victorious. If you’re with a squad, you can take turns using your Super abilities, although it’s usually a one-way trip.
Is the strategy different for Solo players?
Solo players can perform this strategy the same way; it’ll just take longer. The boss will sometimes move right by the arena entrance, and it can be hard to hit the Goblins that keep it immune. Be patient, as they will move eventually. As tempting as it is, I don’t recommend using your Super against the boss if you’re alone, as you likely won’t make it back to safety.
Didn’t Bungie fix this exploit?
Guardians quickly discovered they could stand by the window and shoot in from the ledge (highlighted above). This ledge gives a clear view of the entire arena and is a great vantage point. Oddly enough, Bungie added an invisible barrier to that ridge, so you can’t stand there anymore.
Regardless, Guardians can still perform the cheese the same way, but from the platform behind instead, which is arguably easier and less risky. Once the boss dies, all the enemies despawn, and you can drop in to collect your rewards. While the Wish Ender is perfect for this cheese strategy, there are many great craftable weapons in Destiny 2. Check out our guide for a rundown of the best.
