Once you have locked in your appearance in Once Human, you’re not stuck with it. There is a way to change it in game. This method is hidden behind one or two items but will allow you to switch up everything about how you look.
How to change how you look in Once Human
It took me an age to figure this out. The item you need to construct to change your appearance in Once Human, I would have never thought to build. If you head into your build menu and across to Furniture, you will find the floor section. Here, tucked away in a menu, is the Floor Mirror.
Now, why would you ever build a floor mirror in Once Human I hear you ask? Well, using this mirror, you can access a function called Reforge which will allow you to completely change the way you look. You are able to change everything from your face to your height and make up.
The character customization options in Once Human are much more detailed than they let on. I had a lot of fun tweaking the way I looked once I figured this out. It makes quite a difference in a third-person game, as you can often see how the player actually looks. Although, even in a first-person game like Fallout, I am still going to spend a solid hour tweaking the way my character looks despite probably never getting to see it myself.
So, to open up the character creator and change your appearance in Once Human, simply build yourself a Floor Mirror. It is a very early game item and will require 20 logs and 10 Glass. The logs can be collected from any tree, and the glass must be made in a furnace using gravel and charcoal. Once you have placed the Floor Mirror, simply approach it and open the Reforge menu.
Most changes to your appearance can be made for free in Once Human. However, a few of the more major ones will cost a resource called Mitsuko Deciduous.
