Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is here and you can now hop into every map and mode. Prior to launch, fans who pre-ordered the title got early access to the campaign and unlocked some rewards along the way. In addition, the beta gave us a taste of what multiplayer would entail with an array of game modes, a glimpse at the new gunsmith, and more. One feature that the community were not particularly fond of and wanted to see changed was the helmet camera being the chosen view when spectating a player.
Infinity Ward has made various adjustments from the beta to the full roll out of the game. This includes big issues such as enemy visibility, footstep audio, a reduction to the audio cue that rings out on the map when using Dead Silence, and more. Now, an option has been added to turn off the helmet camera as you spectate.
How to change the helmet camera in Modern Warfare 2
The first step to removing the helmet camera in Modern Warfare 2 is to navigate to the settings menu. To do this, select the gear icon that’s at the top right of the home screen. If you’re using a controller, you can press the start or options button to bring up the menu. From here, navigate to the graphics menu and scroll down to the very bottom of the list. Once you’ve done that, you should see an option named ‘default spectator camera,’ which you can select. Changing this option from ‘helmet camera’ to ‘game perspective’ will take the spectator view off a player’s helmet and change it to a first- or third-person point of view instead.
That’s everything you need to know about disabling the helmet camera in Modern Warfare 2 and becoming a spectator at a less awkward angle.
