I don’t know who is in charge of naming fish, but a lot of them have really stupid names. Bonefish, Blobfish, and Clownfish all come to mind. You can catch a few of these in Dave the Diver, as well as the poorly named Horned Parrotfish. I think the lack of good oxygen gets to the brains of the underwater explorers. The Horned Parrotfish will take a bit of work to catch, but with the right know-how, it can be done.
How to catch a Horned Parrotfish in Dave the Diver
As you progress through the storyline of Dave the Diver, you will eventually be tasked with catching very specific fish for Udo. These tasks have to be completed within a day and will always pose a challenge. These tasks are late game, so you should have quite a few fishing skills up your sleeve.
Catching the Horned Parrotfish requires more than just harpooning the big guy and getting it over with. You can also forget blowing it into chunks with a Grenade Launcher. Udo wants the Horned Parrotfish caught with no damage at all. This is not the way of Dave the Diver, but there are ways to get around it. You will need to enter the water with a tranquilizer dart gun.
The Horned Parrotfish will charge at Dave the Diver when he approaches it. Like a lot of the fish in the game, it is aggressive. This is where the Parrotfish makes its mistake. To catch the Horned Parrotfish, you will need to tranquilize it, but its horns will deflect any attacks from the front. As the fish charges Dave the Diver, use your dash and let it breeze straight past you. Once it has passed, shoot it right in the butt with a tranquilizer dart. Once it is asleep, you can grab it without any damage.
