Dave the Diver: How to catch lobster

Catching lobster in Dave the Diver can either be a pretty easy or a very long task. You see, Crab Traps, along with many other content and mechanics, were introduced on the Dave the Diver October update. These traps are the devices you will use to get – you guessed it – crabs, but also lobster. The way you unlock them is by completing a new questline, which will trigger after speaking with Duwa, the Blacksmith on the Sea People Village.

This questline will only appear after finishing the base game. So, if you happen to have an unfinished game, like I did, you will find yourself finishing the game in its entirety, which can take a while. Anyway, back to Duwa. He is suffering from a cough, and the remedy will require you to get a Horsehair Crab, which you can find in the Glacial Area.

How to craft a Crab Trap in Dave the Diver

After you craft the trap and collect the crab, you will be able to craft and use Crab Traps freely across the ocean. Here are the materials you need to craft a Crab Trap:

Dave The Diver Lobster Crab Trap
  • 2x Rope
  • 2x Scrap Iron
  • 3x Wood
  • 1x Tiger Shark Tooth

You can find the first three materials scattered all around the sea. However, the Tiger Shark Tooth will be a little bit trickier, since you will have to hunt and hope that a Tiger Shark drops its tooth. Swim across the sea at the 50-130m range and you will find it. Once you craft your Crab Trap, you can position it at any crevice with bubbles coming out from it and use any fish you have collected as bait. Let it rest for a bit and once the green check appears, collect your reward, which can be lobsters! Higher-tier crabs and lobsters can drop if you use higher-rank fish.

Go ahead and use the Crab Traps all around the sea, especially at the Great Blue Hole and the Glacial Area, which, to be honest, are the ones that will yield the most variety of lobster and crabs. Bon appetite!
