One of the most challenging things you will do in Homeworld 3 is probably going to be attempting to thrive in the War Games roguelike mode. Might be a bit tough if you’re new to the series. Here is how to capture Control Modules in War Games mode in Homeworld 3.
Homeworld 3: How to capture Control Modules
Capturing Control Modules is one of the many tasks you will have to perform during your War Games encounters to keep moving forward, surviving, and amassing experience points. As the very nature of a roguelike mode, you will never know when you will be tasked with capturing a Control Module, but the only hint you will receive as to how to do so is to send over a ship with the Capture ability.
Now, if that sounds like a non-answer, then that’s because it is. Or at least it is for players who are new to the game’s mechanics and have not played the first campaign missions in Homeworld 3. You see, the only thing you need to do, for some reason, is to send your Resource Controllers to said Control Modules.
Besides being able to collect resources, these Resource Controllers have the Capture ability as well, so go ahead and select them and right-click on the Control Modules and tag along some Strikecraft ships so that they can take care of any enemy units. Resource Controllers can’t fire back.
Be sure to keep your other Resource Controllers busy with resource collecting and complete the encounter as fast as you can. If time passes, the more resources you will spend attempting to defend your Carrier will run out because each encounter’s resource locations are limited. You can also use the Capture Corvettes as your capture units, but they will unlock as you progress through War Games and level up, so stick with the Resource Controllers for now!
