Modern Warfare 2 Kastov 74u Class

How to build the best Modern Warfare 2 Kastov-74u class

The close range meta.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 fully launched on October 28 along with an array of maps and game modes. This includes the return of traditional game modes on top of new experiences such as the large-scale Invasion mode. As always, there are a lot of weapons for you to unlock, as well as camo challenges to work through. This year, some classic weapons have returned to the franchise, including the M4 and the MP7, which was renamed to the VEL 46. Another weapon you may recognize is the the Ak74-u. Under the assault rifle category, the weapon is known as the Kastov-74u. This class will prepare you for the Kastov-74u, as it has quickly made its way into the meta for close-quarter combat.

The launch of Modern Warfare 2 changed the way guns are unlocked. Instead of reaching a certain rank to unlock a gun, you must progress through a weapon tree. To unlock the Kastov-74u, you have to level up the Kastov 762 to level 16 first. This will see you unlock the Kastov 545, which will need to be upgraded to level 13. It may take a while to get your hands on the Kastov-74u, but it will definitely be worth the time. Once you’ve completed all of the tasks, the Kastov-74u will unlock. You will then be able to start obtaining all the attachments you need to build the best class to take into your future matches.

  • Muzzle: RF Crown 50
  • Barrel: BR209 Barrel
  • Stock: Spetsnaz S10
  • Underbarrel: Bruen Sync Shot Grip
  • Rear Grip: Demo-X2 Grip
  • Receiver: Kastov-74u

Let’s begin by breaking down the attachments used on this build. Firstly, the RF Crown increases both your vertical and horizontal recoil control. When you’re selecting a barrel, the BR209 is a viable option for greater movement and aim down sight speeds. Then, the Spetsnaz S10 stock continues to boost the desired characteristics for a close range meta with more sprint speed, aim down sight speed, crouch movement speed, and improved aiming stability.

In terms of an underbarrel, the Bruen Sync Shot Grip adds to the Kastov-74u’s aiming idle stability and hip fire accuracy. Last but not least, equipping the Demo-X2 Grip completes your class with some extra recoil control.

Weapon tuning is currently paused

Infinity Ward has disabled weapon tuning due to an issue, with no word on when it might be back. When it does come back, it will add another layer of customization to your attachments. The feature allows you to use sliders to adjust each attachment you use to gain more of your preferred properties.

As for your secondary weapon slot, a pistol is a strong choice to have in your back pocket. If there’s an enemy up ahead but you run out of ammunition, pulling out your pistol is a faster option than reloading your primary weapon. Currently, there aren’t too many choices when it comes to a pistol, but the X12 is proving to be one of the best options early on in the game.
