How to get building materials in Enshrouded

It’s important to have all of the building materials you need to build a home in Enshrouded. The first thing you’ll want to do is make a workbench and construction hammer in your claimed spot. When that’s done, go up to it and open its crafting menu using the button. Here you’ll find all of the available crafting materials you can use to make a house.

Under the Blocks section, you’ll see Rough Stone Block and Rough Wood Block which are the most important materials for building your first home. Under the Roofs section you’ll see Rough Fiber Roof Blocks and Stone Shingle Roof Blocks. We recommend sticking to Rough Fiber Roof Blocks for a starter home because you’ll be using a lot of stone blocks for the walls, floor, and cosmetic things you’ll put in.

To build a basic house, just surround your Flame Altar with stone floor and stone walls (one with a doorway), and put a fiber roof over your head. This is more than enough just to get by. We recommend starting with this nice one room hut where you’ll put your bed and then expanding from there. That way, you’ll always have a place to sleep while you gather resources for your home.

Each material has multiple styles, which just means they change the look of what you’re placing down. So you can make poles, thing walls, walls with holes for a window, doorways, and other things from the same crafting material. Using the material in different ways allows you more freedom to build what you’d like and personalize your rooms the way you’d like.
