If you’re like me, you expected the mission to end after you beat the three Taken Bosses. If you’re reading this, you know that’s not the case, but you are now facing the final hurdle. Here’s how to beat Tulgorh, Aspect of Agony in Destiny 2.
How to beat Tulgorh in the Whisper Exotic Quest in Destiny 2
Tulgorh is a menace and has a couple of mechanics that waste your time when you’re racing against the clock. The boss is immune to damage at the start of the encounter, so I recommend running to either side corridor on the map.
There’s a small entrance on either side of the arena (pictured above), and you can shoot into the arena from relative safety. Tulgorh can’t follow you inside, but his army of Thralls can, so be careful. You can remove Tulgorh’s shield by defeating the Taken Shield Weavers around the edges of the map. These enemies are similar to regular Wizards and don’t pose much of a threat.
I used the Polaris Lance Exotic Scout Rifle for this battle, as it’s incredible for long-range engagements. That said, any Scout Rifle will work, and you can punch holes in the Shield Weavers from a safe distance. Once you’ve beaten every Shield Weaver (there are 3 in total), you can damage Tulgorh. I saved my Super abilities and Rockets for the damage phase, but just keep in mind that Tulgorh will regain his shield once you knock him down to half-health.
How to beat Tulgorh’s 2nd phase
The big difference for the second phase of this battle is all the Taken Blights that spawn on the map. You don’t need to destroy them, although they do get in the way. I could hit the Shield Weavers with my Polaris Lance and avoid the Blights entirely.
This part of the encounter is almost identical to the first. The Thralls are annoying because they can follow you into the corridors but aren’t a massive threat. Defeat the three Shield Weavers and throw everything you have at Tulgorh to finish the mission.
As you’re battling against the clock, I was able to beat the boss in just over 3 minutes as a duo. Like the previous encounter, there are no Respawn Restrictions, although deaths will waste precious time.
Once you’ve collected your shiny new Exotic Rifle, why not try the new Onslaught mode for even more rewards?
