Armored Core 6 is a game that takes you across the many locales of Rubicon while spending almost every mission fighting other mechs and making it really fun to do so. They do this in quite a few ways, but one of these ways is with the many different builds you can run across the game. This means you can re-equip your AC for combat against a variety of different people and machines. You can run yourself a melee build if you want, or you can run a long range build, shotgun or assault rifle, the choice is up to you. This makes experimentation with bosses one of the more intriguing parts of Armored Core 6, as it is with the boss Swinburne. Here’s our guide on how to beat Swinburne in Armored Core 6.
How to beat Swinburne in Armored Core 6
Swinburne in Armored Core 6 is a boss you can face in the main story in Chapter 3, or as part of the Arena. He’s a pretty feisty enemy to beat, as he moves quickly and can deal some big damage. He uses a shield to protect himself, and has a combination of melee and ranged attacks, which make him a pretty big threat if you’re not careful about avoiding his attacks. Make sure to keep some distance between you and Swinburne to make this fight a little easier for yourself.
Luckily, he shouldn’t be that big of a threat to you if you have a good build set up around staggering enemies. Staggering enemies is one of the most vital components of combat in Armored Core 6, and being able to beat Swinburne is no different in this regard. You’ll want to stagger him as quickly and as much as possible to be able to deal some big damage, especially with his shield being there. Luckily, it doesn’t seem like the shield has much of an effect on inflicting stagger, so you should be good in that regard.
Builds
My personal build for fighting Swinburne, which is also the same for most other bosses in Armored Core 6, is one of two builds. One is a dual pistol build that I use to inflict stagger quickly, with either laser or kinetic pistols, as they’re both great just with some slight differences like ammo count.
The other build I use and the one I fully recommend is a build revolving around using four shotguns. If you have the OS Tuning upgrade for allowing hand weapons to be used as shoulder weapons, you can equip 4 hand weapons, and equipping four shotguns seems to be a very good combination for staggering and dealing major damage. You can mix and match the shotguns, but as I’m in Chapter 3 and have access to more than just the base Kinetic shotgun, I like to use the long-range shotgun and the laser shotgun so I can get some range if needed. You can see my exact build above.
Armored Core 6 is available for purchase on Steam.
