How do you beat Makoto and Yusuke boss fight in Persona 5 Tactica

Makoto and Yusuke is probably one of the hardest boss fights in Persona 5 Tactica, and if you go in without a plan you may need a few retries, like I did myself. When you go into the fight with Makoto and Yusuke, you might need a perfect team, and luckily when I figured out which way to go and how to complete the fight, my team of Joker, Ann, and Erina was pretty solid. You could probably swap out Erina or Ann if you have another favorite character you prefer to use in that slot that can fill the same overarching role, such as healer, persona skill user, etc, as them.

When you go into this boss fight in Persona 5 Tactica, there will be two routes ahead of you, and while the one on the left is incredibly tempting to try out some new mechanics and it’s a shorter distance to the flag, I genuinely couldn’t get through here on a few tries and was killed very easily going this way. So my advice is to go to the right-hand side and challenge Yusuke first instead of Makoto. This is probably easier because you don’t have to worry about being knocked off an elevated platform, and you generally have better cover on the right-hand side.

Finish the fight

Once you proceed down the right-hand side and begin to take out some units on this map in Persona 5 Tactica, other units from Makoto’s side might try and come behind you, but thankfully because they have to move a long distance, and are coming into your territory on this side of the map. On various retries the units actually didn’t end up coming this way, meaning this wasn’t an issue for some time. But keeping them at bay should be pretty easy. I kept Joker/Erina on the front lines on the right-hand side while letting Ann handle the units behind us. After you get through this section in the Makoto and Yusuke boss fight, it’s time to take down the flag.

I spent quite a bit of time getting rid of the flag because you can’t use an all-out attack to do so. A tip for completing this fight early is to actually aim for the flag immediately, as destroying the flag is what causes this boss fight to end, not defeating Makoto and Yusuke themselves. So I ended the fight with Makoto still on the field, and I didn’t even fight her once, because I wanted to get out of the fight ASAP not worrying about any objectives, and just took down the flag with my persona skills/arts after I was close enough to be able to do that.
