One of the first tough ex-battles you’ll find will be against Diya, Jala’s duo rock band member from high school. She’s holding a grudge and isn’t going to let you off easy. If you’re stuck on the Diya ex-girlfriend boss battle, don’t worry because we’ve got you covered in this guide on how to beat Diya in Thirsty Suitors.

Beating Diya in Thirsty Suitors

First things first, you want to be ready beforehand by loading up on a couple of HP and Willpower items. It’s best to take at least two HP food items like Parathas and two Willpower items such as Asmi. The best way to use these items is when dealing with Diya’s Charge Attacks. Also, check that you have at least one skill unlocked that does heavy damage, like Mighty Dunk as that is going to come into play later. If you don’t have one like that yet, do some Gift or Grift battles to level up and unlock a heavy-damage skill first.

Lay off the taunts

While starting with a taunt would be a good choice in any of the previous battles, I would not recommend using your Willpower for this one. This is because even if you figure out one of Diya’s weaknesses, she can change them during battle multiple times and you’ll be back to square one. In this particular battle, it’s better if you use simple attacks to build Willpower so you can use high-damage Skill attacks later on.

Dealing with Charge Attacks

What makes this a tougher battle than any that came before it is Diya’s Charge Attacks. She can charge up a special unblockable high-damage attack in a couple of turns. If you’re low on health from the previous attacks, this now leaves you standing there to soak up the heavy damage.

Luckily, the game tells you when she starts to charge up her attacks. So, when you get the warning, use your immediate next turn to replenish your health as much as possible by using items like Parathas. Ideally, you’ll want at least three-quarters of your health bar full. This way, you’ll have enough health left to withstand a few more turns while pulling off Mighty Dunks. If you maintain, you’ll have defeated Diya.

And there you have it, you should now be able to effortlessly smash Diya into the ground of her own fake reality with the above tips. Note, that while this guide was made for the Diya battle, this strategy can be applied to other opponents that use Charge Attack.
