In Hades 2, the Hecate fight at the end of Erebus isn’t too bad, but one thing that will trip up even veteran players is the sheep curse projectile. Here’s how you can avoid this sheep attack in the Hades 2 Hecate boss fight.
Can you avoid the sheep curse in Hecate’s fight in Hades 2?
Hecate fights relatively fairly for the entire duration of her fight. At least until it comes down to the blasted sheep curse.
When she’s on the final third portion of her health, she will center herself in the middle and spawn her Witches, like before. Only this time, a fast prismatic orb will be fired, and if it hits you, you’ll be turned into a sheep for what feels like an eternity.
As a sheep, you are slow and defenseless, and could easily die as a result.
However, it is possible to avoid the curse projectile, and there are a couple of ways to do it.
Hecate’s sheep curse projectile is very quick and follows you around. However, it is only available for around seven seconds. During this time, if you’re quick enough, you can repeatedly dodge it. This is hard, as it is fast, but if you dodge into the projectile, and a little off to the side, it will waste time curving around to bee-line you again.
Don’t do anything else whilst the projectile is active, and before too long, it’ll disappear.
You can also use the Poseidon Boon that summons a cyclone when you sprint. If you summon the cyclone while sprinting, the sheep projectile will slow. If the sheep curse projectile enters your cyclone, it’ll be held in place, giving you precious seconds of wasted time. Any Boons that grant slowed projectiles work here.
Make sure you select the right doors to get the best Boons. Use this knowledge to allow you to prevent yourself from being turned into a poor sheep.
How to survive as the sheep in Hades 2
If you find yourself being hit with the projectile anyway, you should heed this advice to stay alive.
Make sure to constantly be dodging. Your slow sheep form can’t outrun the hexes that Hecate will summon after you, but by dashing constantly, you’ll get the slight mobility increase you need to outpace them.
Also, when getting hit, immediately start walking in a direction that has the most open space. You won’t want to be turning around even slightly, as that increased distance will have the hexes damage you.
By walking in a straight line, you’ll be able to cover the most distance and avoid damage. Before too long, you’ll be back to normal.
When entering the fight with Hecate, you’ll want to bring the best Keepsakes you have for the fight.
