How to assign Skills in Last Epoch

A lot of mechanics are explained or easily grasped in Last Epoch, but one I had trouble with was assigning Skills. I figured it out and have written this helpful guide so you won’t struggle as much as I did when trying to figure out how to slot and rearrange Skills in Last Epoch.

Last Epoch: How to slot skills and rearrange them

There are two ways you can reassign Skill slots in Last Epoch. One is to drag and drop the Skills from the Skills window into your hotbar. The other is to click on a Skill slot and select what you want to replace it with from the Skills that appear.

By pressing S on your keyboard, you’ll pull up the Skills and Specializations menu. It’s here that you can drag and drop Skills into your hotbar. This was the first way I learned how to slot Skills in Last Epoch, but it’s not the only or easiest way.

The easiest way to rearrange Skills is to click on the Skill slot and select a different Skill. With this method, you’ll still get a description of each Skill to help remind you what everything does.

Can you get more Skill slots in Last Epoch?

As far as I can tell, five Skill slots are the maximum in Last Epoch. You may think it’s four, but you can replace your left-click Skill slot. With that, the total is five Skill slots. There isn’t a way to get more Skill slots. I think this is disappointing because, especially as you level up, there are so many exciting Skills to use.

The reality is you need to select five of your best Skills — or at least the five Skills that best work together — and move forward with your build in that way. Thanks to Specializations, all five of your Skills can be synergized and buildcrafted specifically to your needs.
