How to Activate Thyphlo Ruins Skyview Tower in Tears of the Kingdom

Working as a floater.

In The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, you activate Skyview Towers to reveal more of the map. In Breath of the Wild, you had to climb to the top of each tower. That’s not true here, but there are some you still must scale. Here is our guide on how to scale and activate the Thyphlo Ruins Skyview Tower in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

Tears of the Kingdom – how to activate the Thyphlo Ruins Skyview Tower

The Thyphlo Ruins are located not quite due north from Lookout Landing, in the northernmost region of Hyrule. A worker explains the terminal in the tower is malfunctioning for an unknown reason. If you look around, you should notice there is a floating platform positioned above the tower. It prevents the hatch from opening, which disables the terminal.

To activate the Thyphlo Ruins Skyview Tower, you have to make your way to the top and eliminate the obstruction. You could try scaling the tower if you want (I know it’s possible because I’ve done it), but there’s a faster way to reach the top.

Head around the side of the tower on ground level. You’ll spot a floating platform hanging in the air. Use the Ascend ability to reach its top side. There, you find two Rocket items. Use your Ultrahand ability to attach rockets to the two dragon heads on either side of the platform. Rotate them to make sure their pointed tips both face upward (check our guide on how to use Ultrahand if you need assistance). Then, strike one of the attached rockets with a melee weapon. Aboard the platform, you’ll jet upward to high elevation.

From the higher ground, jump and glide toward the tower where the moving platform blocks the hatch. If you aim carefully, you can land at the top of the tower. The moveable ledge will be just above you, possibly forcing you into a crouch. Find a place near a corner where you can stand. Then use your Ultrahand ability again. Shift the platform so that it moves out of the way. After providing access to the hatch, drop back down to the base level of the tower. Check with the worker and then use the terminal.
