The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 beta allowed fans to get their hands on the upcoming title for the first time. We got the chance to try out 6v6 maps and game types, along with a third-person mode and more. Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer will see the gunsmith return for another year, as well as a new firing range and players have been able to access this early.
If you have pre-ordered Modern Warfare 2, you get early access to the campaign to play through every mission before the release of the full game. In addition, completing the campaign will see you unlock a total of 16 rewards including XP tokens, calling cards, and a weapon blueprint. While you’re taking on the campaign, you’ll have the ability to look through the in-game menus. By doing so, you’ll be able to dive into the gunsmith and firing range early.
How to get early access to Modern Warfare 2‘s gunsmith and firing range
In order to get into these activities early, you need to navigate to the Modern Warfare 2 home screen. Then, connect a keyboard and use it to press F6. This will bring up the gunsmith and firing range options, which you’ll be able to fully explore. The gunsmith will allow you to take a look at features such as weapons and camos, while the firing range will be a new way to test out your loadouts.
It’s unknown if Activision have plans to deploy a patch to stop players getting into the Modern Warfare 2 gunsmith and firing range screens early. At the time of writing, it’s still available to get a sneak peek at these features, so you can get an extra look at some of the content you can unlock at launch. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will roll out on October 28, with Warzone 2 to follow on November 16.
