With Patch 5 of Baldur’s Gate 3 now released, fans are overjoyed at the idea of the new epilogue, but how do you access it?
Although it takes place at the end of the game, how would you experience it if you’ve already completed the game before? I’ll answer all your epilogue-related questions below.
How to unlock the epilogue after-party in BG3
As someone who has already beaten Baldur’s Gate 3, but wants to go back and experience this epilogue, I also have a vested interest in figuring out how to access it. Turns out, if you’ve already beaten the game, you an access the epilogue in Baldur’s Gate 3 by loading the save right before the final boss fight.
One player on Reddit explained that their save right before the Netherbrain died gave them access to the epilogue. Unfortunately, I can’t enter my old saves due to a bug where loading an old save brings me back to my latest save. I made new saves after I completed the game from before the fight to experience other things, but my game won’t allow me to load any saves, so I’d have to redo the final fight again.

Many other players on Reddit are having similar issues, complaining about their game crashing after loading an old save. If you’re also having this issue, I recommend trying this out:
- Remove any mods from your mod folder.
- Delete any Script Extender files.
- This Reddit post explains how to do this.
- Uninstall and reinstall Baldur’s Gate 3.
- Wait until a hotfix fixes these issues.
Otherwise, if you can load a save right before the final boss dies, you can access the epilogue. This epilogue takes place six months after the end of Baldur’s Gate 3, as you and your companions get together for a fun after-party. With new cinematics and thousands of new dialogue to experience, you don’t want to miss this final goodbye.
