How many Pals can fit in a Ranch in Palworld?

Palworld allows you to assign some of its Pals to a Ranch to produce or find certain items for you. This can be extremely lucrative and can save you tons of time. However, you’ll need to be wary of the maximum limit for Pals in a Ranch.

The Ranch is incredibly useful for automation and resource gathering, but unfortunately, you can’t have a Ranch full of ten Chikipis for infinite Eggs. The maximum number of Pals that can be producing in a Ranch at any time is four.

If you try to force-assign another Pal into the Ranch when there are four grazing already, then another Pal will simply stop grazing and will go idle, or find another job to do. Even if it appears that there are five or more Pals in your Ranch, not all of them will be producing. They may just be chilling. You can check who’s producing as they’ll have “Grazing” above their heads when you’re close to them.

So, if you want to farm more than four Pals in your base, you’ll have to build another Ranch, which may be impossible due to space constrictions.

How best to organize your Ranches in Palworld

Due to the space expense of Ranches, if you want to farm more than four Pals without the space, you’ll need to do some problem-solving.

Firstly, check whether you actually need all of the Pals you want to farm. If you have a bustling Berry Plantation, do you need Chikipi to keep producing dozens and dozens of Eggs? Evaluate what you want to produce, and cut out any Pal that you can realistically do without.

If you still have more than four Pals that you wish to farm, assess whether you actually need to build another Ranch. If you can simply keep switching the Pals in and out of the Ranch, you may save space. I personally keep switching between my Chikipi and Vixy depending on when I need more Eggs or Pal Spheres.

If you do need extra farming Pals, but don’t have the space, then there isn’t really anything you can do at all apart from starting up a second base. These bases should fulfill different needs for you, to maximize efficiency.

If you’re facing this problem, then it may be high time for an expansion. There are a lot of resources and farm produce you’ll need, so having one ranch in both bases may suit your needs more efficiently.
