How do Evolutions work in EA Sports FC 24? Answered

What? Your player is evolving!

EA Sports FC 24 is the first game in the new series of footballing sports games by EA Sports, and with it comes a new era for Ultimate Team, among other things. When it comes to Ultimate Team, there have been a few additions for this year’s iteration of the game such as changing the amount of time you spend playing each half of Squad Battles to four minutes, and adding in a new type of card – Evolutions. These cards are cards that have been requested by the community for years, as they’re players that can increase with you as the year goes on through completing objectives and such. Although that’s not all there is to it, and it can be a bit confusing if you don’t know everything about them. So, how do Evolutions work in EA Sports FC 24? We’ll be answering that in this handy guide.

How do Evolutions work in EA Sports FC 24

Evolutions in EA Sports FC 24 are a pretty simple thing to understand once you know the ground rules surrounding them. But honestly, learning those ground rules takes some time and research. So here’s the basics about Evolutions before we dive into some of the more intricate things.

Evolutions in EA Sports FC 24 work in a pretty simple way, once you’re in the game and on the Ultimate Team menu, you can get to Evolutions by doing one of two things. The first way is to use the left trigger shortcut, which allows you to head straight to Evolutions, or you can head to Club, then tab over to Evolutions.

After you enter the Evolutions screen, you will be greeted with a few different Evolutions that you can do. Some of these are free, and some of these are paid by either using coins or FC Points. You can also see the requirements to be able to use a player on the right-hand side of the screen, as well as check how the player upgrades during the course of the Evolution you select. Any player can be used in an Evolution, whether it’s a normal or a special card. By tabbing through the Evolutions and their tiers of upgrade, you can also see the challenges you need to complete to be able to get that stage of the Evolution in EA Sports FC 24.

When you want to select or see a player’s outcome from an Evolution, you should see an option at the bottom of the screen that says “Select Player to Preview”, if you select this, then select a player, you can then preview that player in this specific Evolution, and you can see how they upgrade before committing to actually doing it.

The intricacies of Evolutions

When it comes to the details of Evolutions, there’s a few you would probably want to know. First up, you can use the same player in multiple Evolutions over the course of the year. One of the first Evolutions in EA Sports FC 24 actually requires you to do this, so that’s a pretty good tutorial.

You can only have one Evolution actively being upgraded at a time, on a similar note though, you will be able to have as many different Evolutions players in your squad at a time. So while there’s a limit of one that you can actively upgrade, you can use as many as you want.

Evolutions will also be dropped throughout the year, and some will expire eventually. So make sure to do as many as you can!
