How do equipment sets and bonuses work in Wo Long?

You're all set!

In Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, equipping multiple bits of armor and weaponry that belong to the same set provides a bonus. It’s not a significant benefit, but it just might make the difference during some of the challenging battles to come. Here is our guide to how equipment sets and bonuses work in Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty.

Wo Long: Breaking down equipment sets and bonuses

Throughout the game, you’ll find bits and pieces of different armor when you open treasure chests or loot the corpses of your slain enemies. It’s uncommon to receive every piece of equipment all at once. Besides that fact, some heavier armor slows you down too much if you equip an entire set at once (particularly early in the game).

To get the most of some of the most powerful armor in the game, you must equip every piece in a particular set. The various armor pieces, accessories, and sometimes even weapons that make up a given set provide bonuses when they work in perfect harmony.

As an example, suppose you assemble a full Rampancy set. This heavy armor provides strong resistance to toxicity by default. However, the gear also provides an a potential ‘Brutal Ursine Warrior’ set bonus. When you wear the helmet, armor, gauntlets, and greaves, while also equipping the Soaring Ursine Mace, you gain 2.5% Spirit while deflecting, receive 2.1% less Spirit damage, reduce damage while deflecting, and enjoy a 6.8% boost when inflicting damage with martial arts. These bonuses apply on top of any special effects that may be in place thanks to crystals.

If you don’t equip every piece of a particular set, you’ll potentially still receive some of the added perks. However, you won’t benefit from the most advanced ones. Also, keep in mind that most armor and weapons do not provide a set bonus. You can tell which equipment has more to offer by scrolling through the list of a particular type of armor. As you scroll, watch to the right of the list, where stats display. There will be two or more tabs you can cycle between to read additional details about a piece of equipment. If a piece of equipment requires three or four tabs, it likely has special abilities or set bonuses you should know about.
